Most of the younger crowd will have never heard of the OK-Supreme   motorcycle - but they were very popular back in the day, with  the road racers. - They were powered by a JAP engine  (no not Japanese)

This is a shot of Turk Perapalkin - one of the nicest guys you could ever meet and a really good ISDE rider in his day - here he is riding his Sherpa T in a Victoria Club Trial in 1978. ( Pic by Roger Boothroyd)

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2018

Well, the Easter weather was certainly interesting in most parts of the World - but I noticed today that the ice is melting off Swan Lake in front of our place - also the hills up above where Andrew lives  are now looking brown ( in spite of a quick dusting early today) he will likely be riding out of his back yard pretty quick.

In the World of Outlaw, we had a busy day - bikes coming in   and doing set up - plus a lot of stuff going on with people looking for both bikes and parts. - Interestingly enough, one of these orders was for an older Beta - .The bike was a 2008 Rev 3 270 - and we had ALL the parts in stock.

Another Wulf Trials Helmet going out today - this one to New Brunswick - Yes we ship all over Canada.
How about this beauty? - This is going to Alberta and is the first Factory Evo 4T we have brought in  this year.-   Although I have ridden the stock 4T before, I must say that this baby has a bit of a “Rasp” - - It started so easily that even for myself with a bad right leg I’m thinking - Hey I like this. -  ( It would not be hard for me  to own one of these)

Regarding the latest news on Spark Arrestors - We are happy to report that our Beta Importer will be stocking these ( not sure of the time frame) - We  have also been in touch with our TRS Importer who is also checking out the ones for that brand. - We will post further news  on this as soon as we hear.

Here are the results of the Lomax Cup Trial from last weekend in Wales - I post only to show how the results are tabulated in the UK and the number of sections on the loop.   (These are just the Experts)

The Isle of Man TT Committee are running a Poll to find out who the general public think is the Great Racer of all time on the dangerous Mountain Circuit.  - Check out this link to see some of the names.  ( My personal choice is Joey Dunlop)

Looks like there is yet another Trials Hot shot in Spain - Gabriel Marcelli (Mont) took the win at the Santigossa Three Day - Jorge Casales ( Vertigo) was 2nd Oriol Nogvera (JTG)  3rd, Francesc Moret (Mont) 4th & Dougie Lampkin (Vertigo) 5th. - Here’s a pic of Marcelli  ( Dougie won the Veteran A class)

Steve Saunders (TRS) won his class - and James his son, did well to finish 15th in his class.

And here is Dougie and the gang - great Trials family.

This was posted as The BSA Dream Team - and the question was to name them all - I could only manage 5 of the 7 - the ones I didn’t get were Phil Nex and John Avery.

It was two years ago today, that the Trials world lost Martin Lampkin - it was a pleasure to have known big Mart, another great man a victim of cancer, - Dougie posted this pic today .

Easter Monday  is not a National Holiday in Canada, although a lot of people take the day off - Hopefully my Trucking outfit will not be one of these, as I’m expecting a Beta Shipment.

=======================================>

As it turned out, our weekend weather was quite cool, with an early morning “Dusting” of snow yesterday - Like most people, we enjoyed a family dinner, with Turkey and all the trimmings hosted by our lovely daughter Helen.

Sunday, April 1st, 2018

It’s no April Fools joke  my friends, - we are back up & running !!! Thanks to my Website crew, - Hope you are recuperating well from your operation Bob. - And a very Happy Easter to all.

The weather in the Okanagan has been great for the past week, a bit cool, but we feel sorry for our friends on the other side of the Rockies, who are experiencing dreadful conditions for the Easter holiday.
=========================================>

We managed to get out for a ride on Good Friday, with our buddy Roy, over on the Westside - we found one long ridge where the snow had all melted, and had a great time. - I was curious to see how the Dunlop tires would grip in the slick conditions, and the answer was very good, although the real challenge would be to test an identical bike fitted with Michelins, in the same location and sections.

========================================>

In World Trials news - Adam Raga won the last X Trial in Budapest, but it was very close and came down to the very last section, which Jaime Busto -  “Fived”  and Raga got away with a couple of “Dabs”  - a good way for Adam and TRS to end the Championship with a solid #2 plate.
Of course Tony Bou wasn’t riding because of his severe back injury - I think the big test will come when the Outdoor Series starts, and in particular, it will be interesting to see how Albert Cabestany does now he’s back on a Beta, having been excluded from the Indoor Championship because of Politics.

======================================>

The Three Day “Santigosa” Trial always attracts a large entry at Easter, with a lot of Brits making the trip over to Sunny Spain, the sections are reported to be very natural with only about four real “Toughies” each day to sort out the top riders. - I noticed that Laia Sanz  was riding, showing that she has lost none of her Trials skills.

======================================>

Here are the results of the  Super Enduro Championship - Cody Webb is the winner.

We have heard that the CO’s are out this weekend as is usual on the first long weekend, checking bikes for papers and also maybe spark arrestors, so be warned.

========================================>

This pic just popped up that I took of  Chris Sorovosky ( not sure about that spelling)  a few years ago - He later bought a Beta but I think only ever rode one Trial.

Yes TRS are now in big production for World wide sales. - But still small enough for Jordi to keep a “Hands on” approach.

=======================================>

With the latest Injury to Toni Bou - some of the Trials clothing manufacturers are coming out with body armor - but personally, I don’t see big sales for this - As an older guy - I have more trouble standing on one leg in the morning trying to put my shorts on, than I do balancing on my Trials bike !! (  Bit of Easter humor)

=========================================>

Now here is a very nice looking Vintage twin Shock - Parilla were into the sport back in the day.
