Well the first day of the 2018 Scottish is in the books, and a number of riders kept their feet up all day - they were in order of starting #  Jack Price GG - Gary MacDonald Scorpa - Tom Minta  scorpa - James Dabill  Beta -Sam Connor Beta -  and Andy Chilton Beta.  - Dougie Lampkin took one dab for the day, while USA riders Dennis Sweeten lost 23 and his daughter Kylee 34.  - top lady was Emma Bristow on 8 points.

Here is a pic of Welsh lad Iwan Roberts (TRS) who had a great start to his week after being quite sick for the past couple of months - he is on 6 points lost.   - Also on the sick list, is Ben Hemmingway,(Beta)  having come down with food poisoning prior to the start- Somehow he made it through the day, and is well up there, on the Beta Thumper.

Of course the Sunday Parade through the streets of Fort William is always led by a Pipe Band - and it was good to see that the weather was kind to them this year.

I think this pic tells a lot about why the Scottish Pre -65 is so popular - Yes some take it very seriously, but for most it’s a gathering of old friends riding bikes that are from the past ( when I grew up)

We don’t know who took this pic - or who the rider is - but what a shot - not sure but that might be Loch Lynnie in the background.  - This is why we have always tried to promote long distance trials in Canada, which show off the wonderful scenery that we have .
