Yesterday, Brittany and myself, headed down the Valley to Summerland, as I wanted to show her the old “Outlaw” loop, and spend some time coaching her on Trials technique - What a great day we had - it was cloudy, with a chance of rain, but glad to say we didn’t get any - our ride started off with a real thrill as a large grey wolf ran across in front of us while going up the main trail past the bird bath - first time we have ever seen one in that area.

When we got over to “Rowdy Flats” - the mass of yellow flowers that we saw a couple of weeks ago, had been replaced with a sea of blue - not sure what these flowers are called, but riding through this meadow, is always a special treat. - However the wild horses that frequent this spot, were nowhere to be seen.

We visited the spot where we placed the small plaque of Pete a couple of years ago - this is the section that we called “Devil’s Staircase”  - named after the famous section in Scotland ( Although quite a bit different) - Pete had to cut down this tree to make the line, and it is still one of my favorite sections. - We took a couple of weekends, working on clearing this of bark mulch and debris. - Happy to see the plaque is showing no sign of wear. - This was a poignant moment for me, as I remembered my old friend.

Note” It’s not easy to get up this rocky trail these days, but Brittany did just fine, in fact she seems to have a lot of natural talent for Trials riding, and we had a very enjoyable (but quite tiring) day. - Of course the long drag through Kelowna traffic is always a pain.
