We had a nice surprise in the mail yesterday - A Scottish T shirt and Program from Harry, plus the latest issue of Trial Mag : UK - Fantastic reading again this month - lots of Scottish coverage. Plus a great report from the  old days, when Bill Wilkinson won on a Greeves.

I saw this pic of Jordi posted from a couple of years ago - still an incredible rider - he must be very proud of his achievements with the new TRS brand.

As posted previously, I have been testing both the TRS and Beta 125’s for the past few weeks, and have to tell you that I’m having a blast. - Maybe it’s because they need a bit more “Fettling” to fine tune as they are not as easy to ride as say the Giant killer Evo 200  - but SOOOOO easy to start and just plain FUN to ride. - Of course they are not for everyone, but at the moment - my other bikes are gathering dust.

In comparison - this pic ( taken by Stan) about half way up Joss Mountain, on my 75th birthday - shows me on a Beta Factory 300 - which as it turned out, was likely the worst bike I could have chosen for my last ride up the Mountain. - The trouble was even though the bike was lighter than the stock bike - I did not know at the time that I was diabetic  and got very bagged out on the difficult climb, made worse by the 300 being harder to kick over. - it’s amazing that we (I) made it up to the lookout, as we ran into rain before we started and knowing how fickle the weather is on Joss - We fully expected to run into snow. -Glad to say that my name went into the visitors book at the top as likely the oldest Trials rider to make this trek. - Yes I’m glad I did it a total  of eight times, but this last ride was the most difficult for me.  - The following week my Doctor confirmed that  indeed I had diabetes 2 - and the lack of food and other liquids was the main cause of my fatigue.  - Thanks to Stan for his help on this adventure which was done on the way back  from our Ymir Trial. Always a fun but tiring weekend for the old guy.

Today I had a visit from a Dutch guy - passing through to Kelowna to visit his son - He  stayed quite some time while we talked about the Trials scene and lack of it in the Calgary area where he lives - I was able to tell him about the sport and how things have changed, but at the end of the day, he said he would come back for a test ride.     ( he also mentioned that nobody in the Calgary area knew anything about Trials) - But we know that story.
