Well it turned out to be another epic weekend at Rocky Mountain House. - The drive out was not too bad with traffic (9 hours)  and the weather was just about perfect for the WTC ATRA Trial at Bernie Schoderous’  Farm. - The club are really fortunate in having the use of this property, which could be referred to as a “Trials Heaven”.

We have attended this great venue, for many years, which features a lush Valley, with a creek, and a wonderful camping area. - The rider turn out, was really good and the camp area was filled with trailers and tents, with riders from all over - many from BC plus Dennis Brumwell from Yellowknife NWT  ( his drive is 17 hours !!!)

This was Round #3 of the Outlaw series, with the Sunday Trial counting for total points - Round #4 takes place at another beautiful spot, at Ymir BC on the September long weekend.

It was really nice to see so many old friends, including Neil Ward - out for the first time in over a decade ( I think he may have the bug again)  - Steve Doel showed up for the Saturday Trial, having an unexpected weekend off from his work up North, he took the Expert Class on Day #1 on his Outlaw Beta - in fact all the classes on Saturday, were won by Beta riders.

A new feature at this event was the big cook out on Saturday night - Ross Rathbone started this back a few years at the Annual Scotch Creek “Outlaw” trial, and was on hand to help the local cooks - thanks to the Pospisal family and Taff for acting as Chefs - it really was amazing  - take a look at this pic .

This event was so good, and had so many stories, that we will likely need more than one blog to cover all the action, but glad to say that I managed to take a lot of video and still shots, a lot of which I posted on FB when I got home yesterday afternoon. - The drive back on the David Thompson and down to Lake Louise was spectacular ( no break down this year!!) and as I started at 6 am BC time, traffic was minimal  -Thanks to Ross help me take down the Beta tent as nobody else was up at this time of the morning. —

However, once I hit the main drag at #1 - it  became a convoy. - still I made good time 8 hours. ( A long time behind the wheel for me these days)

Here is Steve Doel (Outlaw Beta) who won the Expert Class on Day #1 - This was a neat and difficult section.

Because there is so much to report on this great Trial ( Maybe the best ever at Rocky )  -We will add more in the days following.

However we must give a big Thank you to Judy Rathbone, who supplied the Results boards - unfortunately, she could not make the trip as she has a broken arm ( a horse accident)  We all wish her a speedy recovery.

Special greetings to Mark Villeneuve who picked up this nice 2019 Beta Evo 300 from me at the Rocky Trial
