Only Harlow  and Wendy Bakgaard correctly guessed the name of the wild Yellow bushes in Scotland - they are called “Gorse”

John Kitchener has sent us more updates both Stan and Jon still going after three days, with Jon ahead of Stan on points - Wednesday was their “Early” day  so they tackled the sections at their slippy worst. - Jon is currently in 135th -with 157 points - Stan is 171st with 193 points.

We watched more great video on UTUBE - everything super slick, so throttle control was super important.

Thursday – 5th May

Another single mark ride on the third day saw Jitsie rider Dougie Lampkin move into the outright lead as the 2022 Scottish Six Days Trial (SSDT) reached its midway point. Wearing his retro 1997 kit, the year that he secured his first World title, Dougie once again looked rock solid as he used every ounce of his vast experience to edge clear of his rivals.

Jack Peace moved into second place overall as he matched Lampkin’s single mark loss for the day but remains under pressure from his brother Dan Peace who now sits in third spot. Richard Sadler continued his climb up the leader board, with the supporting Jitsie rider now occupying fourth position overall. Initial and overnight leader James Dabill dropped to fifth in the rankings following his early day on the road. Just five marks splits the top five with three days and ninety sections still remaining.

Day four follows its traditional Thursday route and is the longest day of the week with the riders taking in three groups and eight sections on the way out to the famous Chairlift hazards. Ba House is the final group before the rest stop, ahead of a daunting run for home that includes Gorton and Corour before six sections at the formidable Fersit.

UPDATE - Stan has lost 12 today so far - total now 202
