Yes it’s Guy Fawkes Day in the UK – and for you younger bloggers who may not know who that was !! – He was a the one who tried to blow up the British House of Parliament – back in the day – it was called the Gun-powder plot, but unfortunately for Guy – it didn’t work and he was caught. – So every year since that ancient time bonfires are lit all over the British Isles and Fireworks are set off, as stuffed images of “Guy” are burned. – As kids it was always a lot of fun. -( not sure just how much this tradition is carried on these days)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a visit from old friend Randy McBee yesterday – he dropped off some neat old memorabilia from that first FIM trial we put on – check this out a T shirt still in the wrapper – what a keeper!! ( I don’t remember ever seeing these)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Randy also had some old photo’s from that era – here is one of Ron Mallet on his TT 500 Yam – looks like Blackfoot Park – not sure who took the pic – maybe Harlow Rankin. ( I don’t think it’s one of mine)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We had a video link sent to us from John Kitchener of the ISDT back in both 1982- and 1983 – which you can see via “You tube “- both really good as John says – back then the Six days was tough – now its a trail ride with Moto X tests . ( I can forward these vis email if anybody is interested) – John rode a lot of Enduro and Trials back in the UK and also did the Scott Trial one year, but he said there is too much cheating goes on with top riders “Cutting the course” – so he never went back. – John lived in Castlegar for many years, and checked for us a couple of times at the Outlaw Trial, he decided to return to the UK last year. – but still keeps in touch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
