Also in news from the UK, we see Talon Engineering is closing the doors – they were long time suppliers of Talon sprockets. – we dealt with them over the years and still have some of their Trials sprockets in stock for the old TY’s.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw this pic and it reminded me of the time back when I was out on my own exploring a deer trail up over the top of a high ridge above the Elbow River in Alberta, plotting the route for the World Trial 1975. – I reached a break in the trees and parked the bike to take a look at the view and grab a bite to eat. – the bare hillside was littered with large rocks like the one seen in this pic, so I sat down to look at the fantastic scenery, thinking the Euro guys will love this!! – As my gaze travelled over to the right, I was quite shocked to see a large Bob Cat sitting on a similar rock only a short distance away, also carefully looking around!! – It was so quiet up in this spot high on the mountainside absolutely breath-taking. – The cat looked over at me, then slowly jumped down from it’s rocky perch and wandered away.!! – what a shame we never had our video technology back then. – It was an incredible moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As it turned out, the deer trail dead-ended at a sheer cliff, so I had to find a route back down a very steep ( like a ski slope) to the Valley below. – of course on the day of the trial, it had poured with rain, and the downhill was super slick, in fact Ulf Karlson fell and sprained his thumb!!! ( we never heard the last of that)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
