Enduro, ISDE, Scrambles, Speedway and Road racing. &#8211;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"443\" height=\"590\" src=\"https:\/\/outlawtrials.com\/davesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Arthur-Browning-with-Hair.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13467\" srcset=\"https:\/\/outlawtrials.com\/davesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Arthur-Browning-with-Hair.jpg 443w, https:\/\/outlawtrials.com\/davesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Arthur-Browning-with-Hair-225x300.jpg 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 443px) 100vw, 443px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>======================================<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"480\" height=\"250\" src=\"https:\/\/outlawtrials.com\/davesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Milnthorpe-Trial-UK.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-13469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/outlawtrials.com\/davesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Milnthorpe-Trial-UK.jpg 480w, https:\/\/outlawtrials.com\/davesblog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Milnthorpe-Trial-UK-300x156.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 480px) 100vw, 480px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>I watched this You Tube video which reminded me of how the entry system works in the UK for events such as this &#8211; If the riders know the area and have ridden that before &#8211; they will know whether it is a bad idea to be first through the sections &#8211; ( check out the video to see what I mean) &#8211; The same applies to the Scottish Six Day Trial where the entry gets reversed through the week, so that everybody has an early ( usually crappy) day, when everything is slick.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As the entries are mailed in ( in the old days &#8211; now digital)  picking the best time to enter can make the difference of having a good or bad day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Another point that perhaps newbies to the sport don&#8217;t realize, is the reason for the long loop &#8211; if you have a large entry &#8211; often over 100 riders (even in my day) you need to have them spread out to avoid congestion and delays. ( Don&#8217;t forget the riders do around 100 MILES per day in the Scottish) &#8211; Of course they always use Observers (checkers) at Euro Trials. &#8211; Just imagine sitting out on a windy\/rainy day in some wild spot all day &#8211; just to support your club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the video clips we see on You Tube these days of events are very welcome -I find them a bit &#8220;amateurish&#8221; &#8211; when compared to the old VHS Tapes we used to get by Duke Video &#8211; The late Dale Malasak also made some good ones.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here is a pic of the box I tried to give away at one of our Trials last year &#8211; All great viewing and not cheap . Some of those on the left are ones I made.
