Sunday was another day in Paradise for the old guy – out on my favorite TRS 125 with Gerry and spending our day explaining both technique and all the little things a “Newbie” needs to look out for when entering competition – I set up a few sections to perhaps help him – but as everybody knows, it takes a lot of effort and experience to progress in this sport. – Obviously as an old guy, I have taught a lot – quite a few Trials schools in my time with Yamaha, but I still enjoy helping out new comers so that they will also make our sport a part of their lives. – Below is a pic of Gerry practicing the “Double Blip” – he got it perfect!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we all know, natural Trials ability is quite rare, but the main thing is getting out and having fun, and what could be better than being out in the fresh air on a long loop -( Yes you all know what I think of Circus type Trials.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today is the first day of the Scottish Six Day trial – A lot of Canadians have ridden this – the best performance was by Stan Bakgaard in 1984 on a Walt Healy sponsored Yamaha TY 250. – Stan finished in 13th place an unbelievable achievement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year we have three riders from Canada entered – Jon English is leading this team – we will check for their results through the week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We watched the Sunday parade from Fort William and of course wish we were there!! – Last time we went was in 1992.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather looks OK in Scotland and there are already a lot of video’s being posted on FB – the top riders all looking good on the difficult Cameron Hill section.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
