Well! The Scottish is all over for another year, and what an exciting climax on Saturday. – After looking solid all week Adam Raga slipped on Friday and ended up in a tie with young George Hemingway .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However! the upset was not to be as George fived the difficult Saturday waterfall section called Fassfern ( but then cleaned it right after to continue up the loop!!) – What would have been a fantastic win on the new Beta Sincro 125, ended up with a 3rd place finish behind Raga and brother Harry.(Beta Sincro) – Here are the results showing the top ten. – Very close at the top only one point separating each of the top three.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Congrats go to Adam Raga on his first win in Scotland, after losing last year. – (would have been nice to see him still on a TRS !!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for our two Cannucks – both finished – with Jon in 143rd place on 307 points, and Tyler 182nd with 395 points.(Both on GG) -The top USA rider was Joss Roper (Beta Sincro) who was 32nd with 91 points, and the best Lady Emma Bristow (Sherco) who was 51st and 121 points. – The last place finisher was Nazario Garcia Locano 258th and (wait for it !!!) – 1343 points – Holly Dixon was the youngest first time lady finisher on a Beta Sincro 125 – she was 230th with 551 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We suggest you click back to the first page results to get a feeling about the true difficulty of the Scottish Six Day Trial.!!!! And this year the weather was perfect. – A ton of videos on You Tube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A lot of Canadians have entered the Scottish over the years – some quite a few times, like Jon, Stan, Guy Smeeth plus Christie Williams and her sister. – and more, – a lot from Eastern Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The weather this year was again very dry with hardly any water in the creeks, unlike the last time we were there in 1992, when the sections were like torrents. – just planning this event takes a year, even though the team all know the area well. – as much of the land is private, permission needs to be granted with things like lambing season taken into consideration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I took this pic of Walt Healy checking out an old bike parked by the section called “Chairlift” in 1992 -when the water was coming down in torrents – hardly any water in that this year – Stan will tell you that riders do about 30 miles on the road to get to this spot, usually in the rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So now that is over!! We can all look forward to the 40th running of the Outlaw Trial this coming weekend – The action all starts early Saturday morning at Ross and Judy’s great location at Magna Bay, and a reminder that there is a vintage bike class on the Saturday. (Note both days are run as separate events with medals both days for all classes.) – The Outlaw plaque is now full, so next year we will donate a new one. – for those not familiar with the pic on the plaque- it’s of yours truly in my very first Trial back in 1956. – Not all years are on this, as we had not planned on making it an annual event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As we have just finished talking about the Scottish – here is a shot taken when we were plotting that Outlaw event at Greenstone Mountain near Kamloops- -a Scottish style creek section. – I was first to give this one a try, even waving my leg like the young guys!! I’m on that new 1999 Bultaco. -( later called Sherco) -Krash Crumly (Watching) helped put that one on, – We had some great sections at that venue, with a nice long loop. – The pic was taken by Steve the Vet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
