Answer to the last quiz – Gary Hocking and Mike Hailwood – Hocking from South Africa won a World title before switching to Car racing, but was sadly killed in a race – Mike Hailwood was of course killed along with his small daughter when a truck turned in front of him while driving his Jaguar to pick up Fish and Chips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Well, three old guys laid out the upcoming Beta Trial, September 20th at Ioco. We did this because no one had volunteered to set up the Junior and Intermediate course. With recent forest closures everything was up in the air. That\u2019s when we decided to host Pat and Ron\u2019s Most Excellent Not Cancelled Trial. Dave stepped to help and between the three of us we set up ten sections over a short loop. This will be a perfect trial for your first Junior event or for those intermediate riders who haven\u2019t ridden in a while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Weather is promising and the loop is easy. Show up, sign up and have a fun day. You are welcome<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw this nice pic of a 1994 Beta Techno – the first Beta models we brought in, and Barry got that first bike – I thought the color combo was fantastic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back in 2009, we got a call from the newly formed WEC ( World Enduro Canada) asking if we would be interested in hosting a National Trial for them. – It was a time when we were no longer members of the CMA, so we said yes. – We could put on the Western Edition for that year, while another would be held in the East at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As many of our bloggers might recall, we set up a challenging course, at Summerland, using much of one of our Outlaw loops. -It was all run very much like an FIM with a time limit and riders starting at two minute intervals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It just so happens, that I was out that day with my camcorder and just came across a DVD disc copy of that event. – We had around 90 entrants as I recall, from all across Canada, and the footage we have, shows some difficult sections. -However, I can’t remember who won that day!!!. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

This disc we have is available on loan if anybody has a player, and is interested in a bit of nostalgia..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
