Mornin’ bloggers – Well we certainly had a nice weather weekend in the Valley, and I took the time to get out with Gerry for some fresh air and a bit of Trials training for him, before the next Trial.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glad to say we had a very good training session- plus a chance for me to get out on the TRS Xtrack 300 – It’s been a while since I’ve been on a 300, and after riding both Beta 200’s and the TRS 125, the first blast down the forest trail, soon got my attention!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because of the mis-leading You Tube videos, most newcomers don’t realise that there is more to riding a Trials section than just hopping about. – We have always taught #1 Walk the section and understand where your wheels will go -the rear wheel always tracks a tighter line than the front, so picking the right line can be the difference between a clean and a “5” – ( We have seen some riders walk sections chatting to other riders, and learn nothing -usually with a “5” on their card.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Glad to say that Gerry ( an older gent) did really well on Sunday -as a long distance Truck driver, he has found muscles he never knew he had. – But more importantly – he seems to really enjoy this experience.. – this pic shows him learning to have the leg out on a turn, after a steep drop into the section, – away from the back brake and also on a camber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As for me, the old guy – I was just happy to get out and teach a few basics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meanwhile over in Spain – No surprise that they won the TDN again – after all, it’s in their backyard, and the sections are all what they practice day in day out, – they are of course brilliant -but for me this whole scene is a bit “Over the top” – some big crashes .<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The British gals took the win in that class, with Emma Bristow leading the Team. -Italy were second and the Spanish gals 3rd.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However! we do respect and applaud the effort put in by our Canadian riders – We just hope they enjoyed the experience..<\/p>\n\n\n\n
