It seems the Mountain bikers are trying to take over Vernon Mountain – This map was just posted as a proposal to the City. It would appear that this is in Andrew’s backyard – Sounds like a war to me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Quiz for today – Who and when? – As I suspected nobody guessed the rider in the quiz yesterday – in fact I can’t even remember his name!!!! Just found it – Joe Baker!!!!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another water section – the “Good Old days” with natural sections – which you walked to check for rocks – remember we all wore Barbour suits and rubber boots back in the 50’s – When I “Introduced English style Trials to both Alberta and the Okanagan – with creeks and water sections, some riders didn’t really “Get it” and likely moved on to other things. – Of course the “Powers that be” decided to ban all riding in Creeks a few years ago, in Canada – as it was thought the bikes would leave oil residue and kill the fish?? – ( they don’t seem to agree with this logic in Europe and especially in Scotland) <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead of one long loop we shorted it due to snow and some branches in the way remember all proceeds go to the MS society<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A recent pic of Mick Andrews with his Yamaha TY 250 Prototype – with “Mono-shock” rear suspension -the bike that changed the way Trials bikes were built way back in 1975. ( I see Mick still has his long hair!!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another famous Trials rider from the past, appears to have branched out into another career – this time making You Tube videos about the various old bikes in his World renowned Motorcycle museum – That man is of course the one and only Sammy Miller – winner of over 1,000 Trials. – Sammy is still going strong at age 90 !!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
