Answer to the last quiz – yes that is Crazy Steve Day – up at Squamish a few years ago !!! And a few people got that one Harlow was in first – then Stan and Jay Colley.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I saw this old pic posted – not sure who took this – but it shows Fron Purslow who was the Motorcycle dealer in Shrewsbury not far from where we lived. Fron later became a factory rider for Ducati and had great success, until a rider ahead of him blew his motor and parts of this hit Fron in the face severely injuring him, and I don’t think he raced after that. However there is more to the story, as at that time I was super keen on taking up road racing and Purslow Motorcycles were the dealer for Ducati, one of the bikes to have for the 125cc class, so I ordered one. – Unfortunately we had a family tragedy soon after when my elder sister died at age 27, and the aftermath of that was that I was talked into dropping my plans to go racing ( Lots of riders getting killed back then)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The pic shows Fron on a Velocette fitted with the Eales forks that were on Les Graham’s MV Augusta when he crashed at the bottom of Bray Hill in the 1953 TT. ( Les was killed)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On a more cheerful note – Here is a pic I took of Sammy King when he first came over for a vacation back in 2014, and we gave him a Factory Beta Evo to ride – this was at Summerland when we were out for his first practice on the new bike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There have been a lot of pics posted lately of Switzerland, and the beautiful Countryside. – It took me back to the trip Babs and I made by Motorcycle in 1963 when we travelled over both the St Gothard and the Simplon Passes. – I remember waking one morning in our tent pitched on a Farmers field high in the Alps and hearing the sound of the cowbells as the cattle were taken up to the higher pastures – memories like that stick in your head for a lifetime.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
