============================================Yesterday we drove over to the Westside for a visit with Roy on his birthday – his eyes are still too bad for him to ride, so we did a whole bunch of “Bench racing” – I thought it would be neat to post a pic of him on his old Montesa – which is in nice shape. He also has a Mont 123 that I gave him a few years ago. – plus his Beta Evo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We received some sad news when we got home yesterday – our long time buddy Murray Nutt died on Sunday night. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

( No other details or posts at this time – our condolences to his family, Robyn and Jeremy.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course we have some great memories of Murray as we rode Trials together in the early 70’s – Babs and Lois – Murray’s wife, were firm friends until she sadly passed away from cancer at a young age. – We spent most of our weekends camping out at Trials or Cross Country races during that time, as our children grew up together,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We were also neighbors for a time when we lived in Airdrie, Alberta, and attended numerous Cross Country Races together. – It was Murray who had the difficult task of informing Babs that I was in the Edmonton Hospital, after my bad crash at a Cross Country race near Drayton Valley in 1979, and during his recent visit with us, he had a brief bright spell recounting this in a way that only Murray could tell a story, making us all laugh. – Yes he had a great sense of humor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Murray worked for Bow Cycle in Bowness near Calgary for quite a long time, as did his great lifelong friend Will Ockie. – They both later spent many years in Thailand – a place that Murray grew to love.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of Murray’s favorite sayings “The older I get the Faster I was”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yes Murray you certainly were fast, a real character, a great friend and we will miss you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
