OK – As most people know we were away at the Shuswap Trial for the weekend, and I have to tell you that if you missed this one !! You REALLY missed a good one. – We were lucky as usual to have not only a first class event, but one for the books, with riders from the coast and Alberta, and from all over BC – plus we had a really fun ladies class. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a total of 55 riders for the two days – we saw some fantastic riding from all classes, ( Not just the Experts) – I have to say that Martin and his crew did a fantastic job with the sections, with most being natural English style, lots of camber turns which required precise throttle control and body positioning, loose climbs, rock steps and some log hopping, all made for a great weekend, plus of course the usual big Saturday night cook out with Ross doing his outstanding catering abilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I was also impressed by the different lines in many sections – making the rider think a bit. – Without a doubt the Shuswap Trials group are doing thing right and have come a long way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because I have difficulty in walking these days, Julie was kind enough to take me around the loop in the Side by side, so I could get some pics – However because the light was poor in the trees I had to choose carefully when using both my cameras !! ( I really need to get an external flash unit for my Nikon) plus try to remember how the hell I used to take these shots!!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Anyway I do have quite a lot which are reasonable – so will post these over the next few days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the saying goes “Ladies first”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is Julie who I think we should maybe call “Wonder woman” – not only did she work on clearing the property – she then looked after the sign in etc – PLUS ferried the old guy around in the Ranger so I could get pics – not to mention a zillion other things she somehow managed to do over the weekend – If you haven’t been to to one of these events – believe me ( and I’ve been around for a while) – you are REALLY missing out on what English Trials in the Shuswap are all about – <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here’s Katie fresh back from her trip to Spain – a gal that has more determination to succeed that anyone I have known for many years – and yes she is doing great.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was great to see this new batch of riders out from Alberta – We had met the new “Taffy” at an earlier event but I’m thrilled to see this new enthusiasm. – They all had a Hoot and we can only hope they can get something going back that side of the rock.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
