Well January 6th will certainly be remembered – It was on this date that the Trump mob stormed the White house a couple of years ago, but perhaps more importantly, the date Justin Trudeau finally resigned. – Although we do not get into the Political stuff on our blog – I for one could not be happier to see the back of Trudeau. – end of story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Answer to the last quiz – Phil Alderson with the broken TY rear fender. – Nobody got this one ( a toughie) – Alderson was (and is) a very good rider, but raised a few eyebrows one year at the Scottish, when he accepted the award for his class, in spite of changing bikes mid-week due to a problem!!! ( He should have been DNF)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interesting to think back on these shows – when I worked for Yamaha, I attended them all across the Country – I would leave home after New Year and get back early February. – In later years, I would man the Booth for the local Alberta club, showing off the Trials bikes, plus doing the announcing for the Trials demos that were popular back then. ( Also did this for Stan in Vancouver)- From what I hear (as I don’t attend them anymore) the shows are ” same old -same old” and expensive to get through the door. But good luck to all who make the effort to pay for a booth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We sometimes chat about all the Motorcycle factories that have – come and gone, here is a shot of the early Bultaco days. – no automatic conveyer belts in those days, everything done by hand, ( still is with some manufacturers)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here is a great shot of Mick and Bernie – we don’t hear much about Mick these days, but understand he will be guest of honor at one of the upcoming shows. – Bernie is of course quite active now in the Classic scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
