As everybody knows, spring is here although it might not seem that way in some places – looking ahead we have a Trial at Naramata next month hosted by the Penticton group – we will post updates when we see them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We received a nice email from Michael Traves with his updates on things down East and his ongoing efforts to promote Trials in Canada. Once again we appreciate anybody who puts unpaid time in to promote our sport !! ( This includes Trials dealers BTW)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have said before – that Trials Competition is not for everyone – it requires the mind of a Pro Golfer and the ability of an Athlete. – If you want to win !!! – In the UK there are families who have been involved with the sport for decades – the Lampkins, – and the Hemingways. – who are related by the way. – we don’t have that in Canada – The sport of Trials may have changed on the World scene – ( Into a circus act) – but in the UK things in some areas are still the same – and what I mean by that, is the club events are still organized much like they were when I started back in 1955. – Of course the ultimate tribute to the heritage of Trials – is the Scottish Six Day Trial. Yes we do have a couple of Canadian’s entered again this year. – we were at the Scottish to Spectate – in 1972 – 1989 and 1992. – All I can say is that if you are a Trials enthusiast – put this on your Bucket list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a pic of Dan Hemingway – uncle to Harry and his young brother – a World Champion by the way. – they all ride Beta – maybe because Uncle John Lampkin has been the Beta UK Importer for decades – Did you also know that he is a personal friend of our own Stan Bakgaard? – Stan used to stay at his place when he was riding over in England.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Below is a pic of John on an Armstrong (CanAm) at the World Round in Builth Wells Wales ( Taffy’s back yard) The bike did not run great and John finishes down in 19th place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few days ago – we posed the question about younger riders in Trials – and we received a few comments – Brett told us that he and brother Bob went around with the juniors at the last CPTA Trial – doing Trials Training on route – a great way to ensure these young riders come back.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We have mentioned before how we held a kids Trial around the campground at Scotch Creek -on the Saturday evening – Mums and Dads hiking around the short course while encouraging the kids at a Suppertime event. –<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally – New TRS and Beta bikes will arrive soon – but shout up quick if you want one as they will be scarce this year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
