Well it seems that young Harry Hemingway got 2nd overall in the grueling 2023 Scott Trial in Yorkshire – The young Beta rider was first listed in 4th – but a recount moved him up to 2nd ., dropping Billy Green down to 3rd – not that Billy will be sad at this placing, as his Scorpa ran out of gas just a long push from the finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This reminded me of a similar experience by Sammy Miller back in 1957 at the TT – Sammy was leading the 250 Lightweight race going into the last bend at Govner’s Bridge on the very last lap, when the tranny seized – making for a long push down to the finish line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course Motorcycle sport is all about winners and losers – who remembers the famous TV intro to Wide World of Sports ? “The Thrill of Victory and the agony of defeat”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is TRS rider Kaytlyn Adshead – who finished the Scott while other Lady and world champ Emma Bristow also finished but struggled with mechanical issues on the day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We are still waiting to hear how the Ioco Trial went on Sunday we hope everybody is taking these wonderful Fall days to get out on the bike – especially into the woods – as I reported earlier we had a spectacular day on Saturday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
