Answer to the Sunday quiz – Ryon Young with his 1996 Gasser – correct response’s from Brett and Mike Hay – who also knew the Gasser was a 1996 model – As most people know Ryon was the 11 time USA Trials Champion and later was the Sherco Importer – He still runs his Trials Schools all over which are excellent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interestingly enough Ryon told me the Trial he enjoyed the best was the Yute Cup – a long ride to the top of the mountain with natural sections on route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The above pic could maybe illustrate the start of the “Silly Sections” which have now changed World Trials into a Stunt Show. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not that I was also blameless in this department – as I did put the odd really tough section in National type events ( Easy to get it wrong – and believe me IMHO “Nobody” ever gets everything right, when hosting a Trial ( Nobody!!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yesterday we needed to shovel snow at our place – but this pic that showed up on FB from this time in 2015 – shows yours truly standing up on Bear Ridge with no snow anywhere to be seen – I was out that day with Graeme Manning ( That’s his Gasser in front” ) – He moved to Vancouver Island soon after. – I think I was out on one of my favorite bikes a Beta Evo 200.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the South Okanagan lads took advantage of the warmer weather and got out for a ride at Naramata – Shane said it was great – but slippery!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They do get snow in the UK sometimes – especially in the North – this pic was posted on FB of the scene back in 1963 ( We were still living in the UK then)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Last night I watched a video on You Tube of Johnny Walker out practicing Trials with Harry Hemingway and Alfie Lampkin – Like most of the Hard Enduro riders, Johnny started out in Trials before he became a top contender on the Private Beta. – Check it out as it’s a good video.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
