This is a pic of my old home town -Oswestry built on the Welsh border- Back in the days when we lived there, that street called “Baily Street” was open to traffic, and because this was just after the war, not too many cars etc about, especially in the evening, so myself and others, used to tear around the bend, trying to drag the footpeg and make sparks, because just a few doors up on the right side, there was a milk bar where a lot of the local riders would hang out, so it was often “Showtime” as they all looked through the window. – Now that street is pedestrian only. – The Black & White building dates back to the 18th Century like many in the area. – The name Oswestry is made up from the original King Oswald – who was killed in a nearby battle – and was buried under a tree ( Oswes-try) – You can learn more about the place we called home while growing up, by clicking onto the “History of Oswestry” – ( Lots of this I did not know or really care about while we lived there)

We had a nice surprise visit from Chris Hrabb yesterday – he was in town having had some work done on his new Husky – nice bike which I took a close look at – Always good to chat to Chris who keeps busy flying Helicopters out of Revelstoke – he was just back from the High Level area – so we were able to chat about some of my experiences when I travelled to many of these Northern spots while with Yamaha. – (Forgot to ask him if he had been out on his TRS lately) – some might remember that I posted a pic of Chris riding my Evo 200 as a quiz question.
