Birthday greetings for yesterday to our regular blogger Harlow Rankin – who has been involved with Canadian Motorcycling for a very long time, both as a rider, dealer – and subscriber to countless publications. Plus he was one of the guys involved with both starting the ATRA in Alberta, but also part of a Calgary group, who approached the City of Calgary to lease what has been the focal point of Motorcycle sport in that City – Blackfoot Park.

Answer to the last quiz – Rob Shepard – a pic taken by Roger Boothroyd at the 1979 FIM Trial in Alberta ( I had nothing to do with this one except representing Yamaha) – As usual Brett got in fast, followed by Harlow & Bob.
Here is a letter sent to Roger by Ron Mallett who was the CMA rep back then. – Sadly Ron died young of a brain tumor.
Quiz today. Who is this??

Work on the Shuswap Duff ‘n’ Dabs Trial coming up on Sept 28/29 is in full swing – with lots of clearing being done – nice to see Martin & Julie are getting help. – Forgot to mention that this weekend is actually a new “Long Weekend”
And the caption for this ? ( Jack be nimble-Jack be quick??)
Regular FB readers – will no doubt have seen John Moffatt’s latest promotion – 10 very special caps to the people he rates the very best!! ( Only 10 made) – The #1 cap rightly goes to Sammy Miller, who without question has done more for Trials both as a rider and after market promotor . Here he is on his BSA collector bike. ( not looking bad for 92!!!) – Think Sam has had that sweater for a while – glad to see I’m not the only old sod who hordes his clothes.

And we just got this great pic of Katie in Spain !! All ready to compete in the Ladies FIM World Trial !! We wish her all the best of luck . – a HUGE step for both our Canadian gals. – Katie is riding a factory Beta arranged by Steve Howland of Beta Canada. ( Looks like she borrowed a bike stand from the TRS team)
