Answer to the last quiz – Bill Nicholson on a BSA Bantam – it might surprise a few, to learn that the BSA Factory riders Bill and Jeff Smith raced these underpowered rigid rear end lightweights back in the 50’s to promote the model. Did you know that this bike was a copy of the European DKW? – Also as reported before, it was the bike that got me hooked on Motorcycles in 1953. Only Peter LeGrove from OZ got that one.

Watched the latest Danny Butler Podcast on You Tube – some good conversation with John Shirt and another guy ( Who yaps too much) – I found it interesting to hear what John said about the ACU, plus his comments on other stuff – noticed he also put the TRS sign back up on the table when it fell over.!!( He is a dealer for TRS, Beta and Gas Gas) – Quite a lot about the Scottish, as Danny Butler will be riding this year, John of course has ridden the event about 14 times or more. – I remember Mick telling us in Fort William that John phoned him on the Friday night of the Trial asking “How do I win this bloody thing on the last day?”- he was in 2nd at the time – – I don’t recall what Mick told him. But Shirty did not win.
