Well – today is another “Dental day” so I will post this early.
Answer to the last quiz – Danny Amor, Al Perrett, Turk Perepalkin and Bob Underhill – pic taken at the ISDT in Germany – Turk supplied the pic.
Quiz today – Who is this rider and what bike??
===============================
As hinted earlier – Vertigo is now under new ownership – most will recognize Mark Colomer – but not many the other guy – We wish them luck with the new project – ( Not a great time to be getting into the market – and Colomer has jumped around a lot over the past few years – I guess it will all come down to money and making the correct choices)

I saw this pic posted of the Yamaha MX 250 and it brought back memories and yes another story. – Back in 1975 – they held a Cross Country race North of Edmonton, but I had sold my latest demo so had no bike to ride – However when calling on our Yamaha dealer in Sherwood Park, he suggested I borrow a new unit he had on the floor!! ( I was in the area anyway) – So late on Saturday night I headed to Smoky lake, and next day lined up in the local farmers field, along with about 50 others, including local hot shots Zoli Berenyi JR and Senior and other regular MX guys.
This was a shot gun start as usual – and as the farmer with the gun, was standing just at the back of me, as soon as he started to raise his arm, I was already turning from sitting backwards ( as was the norm at some races) – as the gun went off, I made a lightening start leading the rest with a great hole-shot flat out down the field .
Now I should mention that because I got to the event late, I had not done my usual inspection of the start area!! – so I was going pretty quick when we got to a bunch of really rough muskeg “hummucks” so hitting these at speed, suddenly the handlebars on the Yamaha came loose and pivoted back onto the gas tank, at which point we parted company, as everybody else roared past!!
Of course being a new bike I should have checked it over, but it was just one of those things – the metal tank now had a big crease in it, and was no longer looking very “new” -And I decided enough was enough.
Next day I returned the bike which I think was still on the dealers finance plan, and gave him a credit on his Yamaha account!! but also a reminder to fire the kid who put the bike together.
We had another not so good experience with this dealer, but I will save that story for another day.
