Well, looks like January is going out with a blast of Winter weather, as we woke up to white over, this morning!! Not sure if Alberta also got this, but they have the Calgary Motorcycle show this weekend.
Answer to the last quiz John Hartle who often rode in some of our local Trials during winter months to keep fit – We never met John, but saw him doing a demo with Geoff Duke on the wonderful sounding Gilera 4 cylinder bikes at Oulton Park. Sadly John was killed at Scarborough when a lapped rider pulled over and caused a crash.
Once again, it was the Ontario lads that got this – Neil Carter and Pete Varey.
Quiz for today – Guess who?

We checked out the UK Hard Enduro called the “Ball Breaker” on You Tube – they sure made this one difficult – it was Trials rider Jack Price who took the win on the Factory Sherco – If you remember the Old Moose Mountain events, you may enjoy this.

Below is a pic sent us by Jamie McGregor showing the Canadian team going to the SSDT back in the late 1960’s – As I’ve posted before Terry Porter became a good friend when we got into trials in Calgary, and we started what we called then – the long distance Trials, run in the Forestry West of the City. – I know Terry failed to finish the Scottish, when he knocked a hole in the side case of his Sherpa t. – As many will remember – Ron White together with his wife Eve, started the CMA in those early years, and they contacted me to supply news and pics for their magazine. – sadly they were both lost when their light aircraft went down in Lake Ontario. – We lost touch with Terry, when he took a job working for Air Canada in Toronto, and nobody seems to know what happened to him. – Thanks to Jamie for these old memories.
