I was watching a You Tube video last night on John Surtees – the only man to ever win a World Championship on 2 and 4 wheels – really interesting and quite long.
Another video on Stirling Moss, went into detail about the development of the disc brake! – it was Moss who proved this could be a huge improvement, by using them on his factory Jaguar in the Mille Miglia – the very long Italian road race ( later discontinued due to a horrific accident that killed a lot of spectators)
This started me thinking about the various updates we have seen on Trials bikes – disc brakes – water cooling – hydraulic clutches – mono rear suspension etc – just as the sceptics said the that disc brakes would never work on cars – it took a guy like Stirling Moss to prove them wrong.

looking ahead to the Easter weekend – many Trials enthusiasts will be heading to the South Okanagan to ride or spectate at the Naramata Two Day Trial – I am posting the map again today, but please allow yourself lots of time to get there. – On Saturday our Team Outlaw Ladies will be in attendance at the Beta tent and can answer any of your questions, plus contact me if you need any extra parts for Sunday, when both Mike and myself will be there.

We have often said that Trials riding is a “Family Affair” but to have two brothers compete at the top level is rare. – The young Hemmingway brothers, are creating quite a stir on the World stage, but in a few short weeks will forget all about the hopping and bopping when they ride the Famous Scottish Six Day Trial once again.
