Answer to the last quiz – Jim Pomeroy from Yakima WA. – The American who surprised a lot by winning a World Championship MX in Spain on a Bultaco and watched by the Factory owner Senor Bulto. We saw Jim race at Blackfoot Park, Calgary a very talented rider, who unfortunately died in a Jeep accident many years later.
While most of our bloggers remember Bultaco for the Sherpa T Trials bike developed by Sammy Miller, the Spanish factory were huge in all aspects of competition including MX, Road racing, ISDT and Flat track – ( Some Bultaco Astro flat trackers still raced) – They went out of business, when the economy went sour in the late 60’s and because the Spanish Government and unions, did not allow factories to downsize the staff etc- they closed the doors in 1968. – ( As did Ossa ) – Montesa were “Saved” by being bought by Honda – not for the great competition bikes, but because they wanted to sell the Honda scooters in Spain and needed the ” loophole” in the Spanish Import laws)
Quite a few of our bloggers got that quiz – Walter Cukavac, Pete Varey, Jack Chant, Brett, Bob -Harlow.
Quiz today. Who is this on the 500cc AJS?

Weather is quite “Unsettled” as we head into the weekend but is due to warm up nicely – We are getting quite a few calls by riders wanting parts and accessories for this first busy long weekend and the Narimata Trial – We look forward to seeing a lot of old friends on Sunday – including Steve Day – who has been riding Trials for a very long time and always enjoys his visits to the Interior events. Here he is at last year’s Naramata Trial – ( not sure if I took this or Rob Headle.)
