We were out on the new 2025 Beta Evo 200 yesterday – it’s been quite a while since we rode one although we always keep a 200 as a demo – reason being of course that as an old guy, the estart TRS usually gets the nod, when I go out. -But ! What a great bike -that Beta – I had forgotten just how good these are, pulling the steep up-hills in 3rd, but with still enough torque that you could back off if needed. – Plus on the trail 4th and 5th gear was perfect. ( And still one gear to go) – The weather was great so Mike and I enjoyed a neat day out in the woods.

We did see a few of these out on the trail today, so a reminder to keep an ear and eye open, because some of them are going way too fast and with no thought for anything coming in the opposite direction on narrow trails.

Although we have been singing the praises of the smaller capacity Trials models lately – this idea started way back in the UK, with the lightweight Villiers engine bikes, which was followed later by a lot of specials appearing with Japanese motors – here is Peter Gaunt on one of his Suzuki specials. Later of course Sammy Miller shocked the Trials World, by joining Bultaco, and as they say “The rest is History”

We have picked up the medals for the upcoming Shuswap Trial – these are pretty special.
