Quiz yesterday – Rob Shepard – Only Harlow got that one.

Quiz today – who is this rider?

=========================================

In a sign of the times – TRS have dropped their Team rider for 2026 – Not totally unexpected, given the current market situation. – looking at the way the World Championship Trials are run by the FIM it appears that it has just got way too expensive for both factories, riders and clubs who put on the events. – not that we know all the figures, but we did hear that the FIM require stupid money for any Country/club to host an event plus pay for riders and officials transportation etc. – that is why we have seen more riders switch to the more lucrative Enduro scene.

Official post seen today, after the rider posted yesterday on FB.

TRRS clarifies today through the official statement that we reproduce in full below:

“Dear customers, pilots and collaborators,

We are writing to you to clarify the content of the recent statement issued by Aniol Gelabert, whose claims do not correspond to reality.

At TRRS, we have always acted with professionalism, transparency, and respect towards our drivers and partners. Regarding the aforementioned case, we wish to state that the decision not to continue with Aniol was communicated to him on October 8th of last year , more than six months before the start of the season. At that meeting, the reasons—related to contract performance and the evolution of the championship format—were clearly explained and accepted by both parties at that time.

Likewise, it was agreed to maintain all conditions until December 31 of that same year 2025, fully complying with our obligations: technical support, material, equipment and financial compensation.

We deeply regret the statements made, which we consider unfair and detached from the facts . TRRS is a company committed to doing things right, and we feel it necessary to provide you with this clarification, out of respect for the relationship of trust we maintain with all of you.

Although seeing riders contracts not being renewed is not something out of the ordinary – our bloggers need to remember that there is not much money in the Trials Industry – this has always been the case. – However it’s worth remembering that Trials riding is still one of the cheapest sports and while the bikes have increased in price- these last a very long time if looked after.

Another interesting point, is that most guys and perhaps even some gals, can continue riding their trials bike well into their senior years, as these work very well as “Trail” bikes. – We got a phone call yesterday, from an Alberta guy, who bought a couple of Trials bikes from us 20 years ago, and at age 70 has decided to get another one.!!
