Well we certainly had a ton of people posting yesterday on my birthday !! Many no doubt are amazed just as myself, that I have survived 87 years. – One guy hoped I got my birthday wish !!! I said I already did – “I woke up”
I would like to thank everybody for their kind thoughts and words – I tried to reply to most, but might have missed some. ( last we checked there were over 100 comments on FB – all nice)
Katie stopped by to pick up some stuff and wished me a Happy birthday – Monday she is off to Spain to take in the TDN etc. We are very proud of how she has pushed herself in Trials competition .
We celebrated my birthday by going out to supper with the family which was a real treat – what a feast and of course chocolate birthday cake ( perfect for an old diabetic!!)
As some people may know I share my birthday with Steve Baker one of the nicest guys I have been lucky enough to know – here is a pic from 2018 at the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame when I was inducted along with Al Perrett and Steve Crevier – both Steve and Bob Work were inducted previously but is was nice that my daughter Helen was able to capture this moment, Sadly both Al and Bob are no longer with us. – One point of interest – the tie I’m wearing was given to me by the Yamaha dealer in Brecon when we were in Wales for the ISDE in 1983 – he wanted my Yamaha tie so we swapped.
Here is a neat shot we have not seen before – it shows Stevie coming into the pits after winning in Europe and Bob is running to congratulate him – I don’t ever remember seeing Bob running!!

I had to laugh when I saw this – wondered why my ears were burning !!! – I think the word Legend is way overused and should be saved for really special people ( not myself) maybe imfamous would be a better term!!
I should maybe get one of these Clint Eastwood caps!!

We got this old photo sent by my elder sister – it was taken of myself and my two brothers with our Dad when my sister was married. Looks like we cleaned up pretty good.
