Here is my Bultaco story – I was first introduced to the Sherpa T back in 1970 by Terry Porter, and I later bought his bike – see below my first event on this. steep drop and found out just how poor the Spanish brakes were. ( I soon fitted a decompressor)

below Trial at Lethbridge

Trial in the Forestry South West of Calgary AB – snow and rain. ( Note that I’m not wearing gloves)

Yes back then we pulled the odd “Wheelie”

While I owned a number of 250 Sherpa T’s – However, the best Bultaco I had was the 1973 Sherpa 325 – only sold this, when I joined Yamaha Canada late that year. ( Wish I still had that bike)

Below a very steep climb – doable in 3rd on the 325 Sherpa – ( lots of “5’s on this) – Note all these pics by John Whitby.

Tomorrow we will continue with our Bultaco -story and how the name changed.

In 2012 we put on a Trial at Summerland over the November 11th remembrance day weekend. – We started with a two minute silence, and I played the “Last Post” on my Harmonica. – It was a very cold weekend with snow, and this got worse as you can see by the pic of Jay Colley’s camp the following morning.

I remember Bob & Brett had brought a couple of the Sherco 320 4T bikes which they had to park near the truck exhaust to warm up before they would start.

I remember being out on the Saturday riding my Beta Alp – taking pictures – I positioned myself at this one section after a slippery rocky climb, only to be told by Brett ” no point in being there – nobody is going to make it that far” I remember flailing around the loop with Steve Day and Stan, both on TY 175’s – yes it was fun on the snow covered trails.

Note! I wonder if Jay still has that old Sherpa T?
