Glad to say we don’t have any snow on the ground low down in the Valley – hope it stays away so people can get around Christmas shopping etc. ( Great up on the Ski hills)

We had a visit with Emily yesterday, she dropped off her Beta 200 for a bit of TLC. – we chatted about the devastating effect the Postal strike is having on small business and in particular her Mum & Dad’s Motorcycle Mojo Magazine which has been sitting in the post office waiting to get delivery – no sales, no revenue, this happening just as they settle in at their new home in Vernon.

Naturally the other topic was also on Motorcycling and the KTM debacle – this will hurt a lot of people in the Industry.

Here is a neat old pic – it’s of Town Hall Brae in Fort William, always the last section of the day in the Scottish – obviously it has been made more difficult now, but still a “Breeze” for most riders, however it does give a lot of Towns people a chance to see the action without having to travel out onto the Moors.

This is Young Tom Sagar at the Scottish Six Day trial, which he rode a number of times, usually finishing well up – I used to ride with his Grand dad in the 1950’s – Tom was European Enduro Champ at least once. I have told the story before of when we were in Wales in 1983 for the ISDE, we were heading out to our check point early one morning, and we stopped to ask directions from a group of marshals at one spot – as I approached one guy with his back to me, I asked in a fairly loud voice if we were on the right road. – The guy in a motorcycle Barbour suit – turned around and said “Bloody hell – Dusty Rhodes” – I should mention that this was my “Nick name” in Wales – long before I became Outlaw Dave. – But I had not seen Alan Sagar for about 20 years, so it was quite an amazing coincidence – Alan was the top Trials rider in our Oswestry Club and in fact did a bit of work on my first Trials bike, to show me “The ropes” – Sad to say he is no longer with us, but I did bump into him one more time at the 1992 Scottish Six Days.
