I’m a bit late getting to the Blog today – usually, I’m ahead of the game, but yesterday I got busy doing other stuff then watched repeats of the Jack Frost Detective series on British TV. – Lots of brilliant and entertaining TV to see on this Channel – Doc Martin, Heartbeat etc. – we also click onto You Tube for some of the motorcycle stuff, but lately have also watched the posts called The Last Word – an update on the daily rants from South of the border – which puts it all in perspective. – Worth checking out.

Meanwhile back in our motorcycle world – not a lot of news – nice to see the snow melting, and people getting excited about riding. – Of course when we were younger, we did a lot of winter riding – When we lived in Alberta, the Calgary Club had a Clubhouse on the shore of Chestermere Lake, and weekly club meetings were held. – These were always run in an orderly fashion by the president who acted as chairman. – Winter also saw club members out on a Sunday, playing on the ice oval – always very good times with just sheet metal screws in the tires. – Lots of great memories.

Later when we moved to the Okanagan, we were always out playing in the snow on our Trials bikes – no studs – just having fun – Bear Creek was usually a place where the snow would not be too deep, as the close proximity of the Lake kept the slopes warm. – I’m not sure if our local enthusiasts still do much winter riding – as we rarely hear any news.

Below is neat shot I took of Matt Reading, trying out one of our Beta Evo 200 models, back in 2015 – He had a Beta 300 at the time, but after this Sunday ride, he bought a 200!! – As we have said many times, the Evo 200 is a very much underestimated model, and Matt is pulling 3rd gear on this steep upslope. – This bike later went to a customer in Winnipeg. – Note ! We always have Beta Evo 200 in stock for anybody interested in trying it around the yard!!

Below is a still shot from a video that Matt took of me on the 200 – after pulling 4th gear on the steep slopes, which was a lot of fun and totally surprising.
