As we look back on the Outlaw Trial from last weekend – we remember all those great events from the past and the Banner the Alberta lads made up for the 2012 Trial. – It was signed by most of the riders that weekend and we had it hung over the trail going out of camp. – Hard to believe we started this 39 years ago.

Although only a few of the original riders were at the 2025 trial – it was great to catch up around the campfire, and also great to see some of the girls out there all doing well ( Emily is still nursing that damaged wrist so couldn’t make it) – A special Whoop to Katie, who lost only 3 points on the intermediate loop – ( She loves that new Beta Evo Factory)
Also lets not forget that Ross and his Team took over running the event for so many years. in the Shuswap – We look forward to the next one hosted by Martin and Julie in the Fall.
While being back at Summerland, for the Outlaw, which brought back so many wonderful memories – It also brought a touch of sadness, when I remembered all the events that Peter Brown helped me with. Pete never complained about anything I asked him to do – including cutting down huge trees to build the “Heartbreak Hill” section.
Below is a few years ago, when I was putting a memorial plaque, to Pete on the tree stump half way up the section – It is still there, but few know how to find it.

Somebody posted this pic of the Japanese Factory rider at the 1992 Scottish on the Prototype TYZ – If you look closely you can see our Outlaw Cross Bar pad that Mick Andrews put on it for a laugh – he said ” Wait ’till they see that back in Japan “- Dave.
