Well we hope you all had a happy “Father’s Day” – I spent most of it as a couch potato – first watching the US Open – then flipping to the Montreal FI race – then back to the golf – which was really way more interesting for me – mainly because the weather was so so bad and all these highly paid golfers were into the toolies!! Then it rained big time causing a delay of one and a half hours, so when the action returned, we saw an unbelievable come-back from the unknown guy from LA- JJ Saum -who shot 5 bogies in the beginning, then won the thing with the longest birdie putt in the history of the event. – In the FI it was a win for Mercedes driver Russel from the UK.
Answer to the last quiz – The Flag bearer at the 1983 ISDE in Wales, was Bert Irwin (rip) one of the nicest guys I ever met and of course others in the pic are Jim Kelly and myself on the right swinging those arms. – A very proud moment for me and more so, when the team won both the Watling Trophy plus finished second in the Silver Vase.
Neil Carter was the only correct answer. – Neil also sent me this pic of the team lined up in front of the large Mercedes – Yamaha Transporter that I borrowed from the UK Importer.

Quiz today – Who is this rider ?

It would appear that the British Championship Trial at the weekend, had some more traditional type sections – here is winner Jack Peace on one of them. ( Pic by Neil Sturgeon)
