Well the first full day of Summer was sure a surprise weatherwise – snow on the Mountain Passes plus lots of rain!! – Now back in the day, I would complain about the rain, as coming from Wales we seemed to see too much of this, however these days in Canada with the Forest Fire hazard – we are quite glad to see these wet conditions.

Obviously back in the 1950’s when we began riding Motorcycles – the first thing you bought (after the bike) was rain gear – But a funny story, because when my good buddy and myself bought our first bikes the best priced rain gear was at the local Army and Navy discount store -We bought one piece rubber ‘ex submarine” suits – with money tight a good deal – Yes they kept the water out – but you soon began to sweat so bad it was like sitting in a sauna – The most popular gear was the famous Barbour suits. – All the Trials riders had them, being of waxed cotton, they kept you reasonably dry – plus of course we would have a small white towel around our neck to soak up the rain.!! ( What a fun time) – later everybody wore rubber boots because as a rider, you were always walking up creeks before riding them. ( I still have mine)
I think the first rider to start wearing leather boots was Mick Andrews – but these were of course very stiff – wrong soles etc – How times have changed!!.
Although the Ballerina tights worn by the next generation, were only popular for the slim youngsters – it’s nice these days, to have “Trials only” type clothing and boots – and yes we sell all the Wulf gear that is designed especially for our sport . (Plus rain gear)
