As we all know these days a lot of the ladies ride bikes in all types of competition or adventures (Itchy Boots) -but this was also happening way back when – we saw this neat pic of a couple gals off on a weekend camping trip complete with golf clubs – must have been in the 1930’s

Below is a pic when Adrian had just built our workshop – still had to have the siding fitted – but a good shot of some of the bikes we sold back then – Beta and GasGas ( Later Sherco – then TRS)

we saw this pic and it reminded us of our Yamaha days – as many people know we had a bit to do with the IT series – as it was the bike built by Walt Healy that caught the attention of the visiting factory Japanese- we had a good conversation at the coffee shop to explain what we had done and the photographs they took went back to the factory. – sadly I don’t have any pic of that bike which was a 1974 YZ 250 Mono shock fitted with a DT 360 flywheel and tranny. – plus a big tank for Cross Country- This was the brain child of John Arcand who died young of cancer – Unfortunately the only time I ever raced it was in the Red Water Grand Prix ( Ha Ha) – and that ended when a junior rider hit me head on coming the other direction due to a very bad course lay out.- that broke my collar bone.

As reported before, we looked after the Yamaha Cross Country Team in Western Canada and the riders won just about everything – team riders we sponsored were Craig Woods, Walter Cukavac, Walter Short, Tony Allen, Bernie Graffunder, John Shumak, Pat Horan, and others – including Danny Amor who we signed to ride for our ISDE Team in 1983, but sadly Danny got cancer. –

Spending time with ace tuner Bob work was lots of fun, which included testing snowmobiles and also being at Daytona with him one year. – The days when Stevie Baker raced the sleds at Wetaskiwin will always bring a smile to my face. Especially as I had to pick up their winnings because they were late showing up!!!

Here is a pic of Stevie and myself at the Edmonton Hall of Fame – interesting – we share the same birthday September 5th.

And below is at the Vancouver HOF a couple of years later when I was inducted along with Al Perrett and Steve Crevier. – Sadly we have lost both Al and Bo. – What really wonderful guys these were .
