This news was posted yesterday – seems like a bit of a shake up going on with Sherco – Malcolm has been selling them for a very long time.

PRESS RELEASE – November 9th 2023

After a long relationship, which has lasted for over 24 years, Sherco Importers, Malcolm Rathmell Sport regret to inform all our dealers, team riders and customers that we will not be continuing our relationship with Sherco.

We have made many friends during that time but we hope in the future we are able to keep our connection with everyone by working and promoting all our other fantastic products.

As you will know we have recently shared the news that we have acquired the Airoh brand again. We will be putting all our efforts into the MRS brands which we intend to expand over time with more new and exciting products. Whether it is Gaerne, Airoh, Michelin, Rock Oil, Galfer, J Juan (AJP) RQF, Domino, Forcefield, Milwaukee to name just a few of our top branded products, we will continue to expand MRS in the coming years. – www.mrsltd.co.uk

It only remains for us to say a very big thanks to all who have supported us throughout this journey and who continue to support us in the future.

We have always appreciated the efforts everyone has made for us and have never under-estimated just how important the customer / dealer / rider is to us.

This will continue into the future which we are committed to and rest assured the MRS name will remain prominent in all off road motorcycle sport long into the future.

We are looking forward to supporting riders in Motocross, Enduro, Trials and all off road sports in the many years to come.

Best regards

Malcolm, Rhoda, Martin, Carly and all the MRS Team

Still on the Sherco topic – this is a pic of the very first “New Bultaco” in Canada – taken at East Kelowna in January 1999. -the name was changed the following year to Sherco – SHER- from the original Bultaco SHERpa and CO from bultaCO – then the French guy did not have to pay royalties to the Spanish Bulto family.!! We sold Sherco from 1999 until 2011 when our Importer was cancelled and we elected not to continue with the new ( short lived Importer or the ones after that)

Some of our readers may have seen the video we posted on FB of the weather picture of our front yard five years ago – snow and lots of it. – Fortunately this year we are still not seeing any down low, although I’m sure it won’t be long. After the year of forest fires and extreme heat – it’s nice to get this bit of a reprieve.

Yesterday I was up early as usual – but found everything in total darkness – no lights anywhere through the window looking towards downtown Vernon and of course all the power off!! – With nothing else to do I went back to bed – and only woke up when the furnace kicked in. – Strange thing is that we never did see any reports of why the power went off over the whole City!! – It does put you into action mode – searching out candles etc and glad we always have a flashlight handy. So with this just small and short “Blackout” just imagine the chaos when the experts decide to make “Everything” electric.!!

Answer to the Thursday Quiz — Harry McKay – nobody got this one – Harry spent a few years in the Okanagan, before moving back to his native Scotland, but we still keep in touch – this next week he will be heading to Spain to compete in the Costa Brava Classic Trial – a HUGE event that sees an entry of over 300 riders.
