Ok so a very happy day to all the mother’s out there and we hope you have a nice day – maybe kicking back with a glass of wine?
=======================================
For the Scottish Six Day riders the pain is now over for another year, but they have likely enjoyed the best weather ever in the history of this Trial.
And the winner is Jack Peace (Sherco) A very popular lad, who has put in a big effort this past year on the World scene. – Yes some might say he was lucky – but you only win if you make the least mistakes, and Adam Raga made one bad one. However, lets not take away from the brilliant riding he showed all week, with only two dabs before that five. – There have already been a lot of comments posted from people who were not at that section to see the incident. – The fact is this is now over and has left a sour taste in Adam’s mouth – he may never return to Scotland but it was nice to see him being very gracious at the trophy presentation. Was it a bad call by the observer? your guess is as good as mine.
No doubt there will be a lot of discussions going on behind closed doors over the next year, regarding all the stopping and hopping that seemed to be the theme in 2025. Maybe instead of “No Stop” – it should be “No Hop!!”
– I think we should also remember that the Trial was won on just one dab, back in 1961 by Gordon Jackson riding that heavy old AJS thumper.

Quiz Today – Still in a Scottish Theme – This pic shows the Corran ferry about to dock in Fort William, but who was the rider who decided not to wait for the ramp to go all the way down, and jumped his bike !! he ended up with two broken ankles when he landed – and what was the year???

Another Scottish finish for Jon English with lots of stories to tell especially about his day 5 – which included two flat front tires.
Jon finished in 132nd place with 295 points for the week ( The last official finisher lost a total of 754 points for the week.)
Many of you may click onto the Trials Tube videos on You Tube and be familiar with Danny Butler, who rode the Scottish this year for the first time. – In his words “It was awful” and says definitely not for the average club rider !! – he says save your money!!! But he did finish in – 122nd spot on 271 points.
– Emma Bristow was of course top lady rider in 47th spot and 121points, while young Fraiser Lampkin finished 100th on 225 points at his first attempt.

Below is Jon at the finish!!! Perhaps a smile of relief that it’s over.

Special mention should go to the 125cc riders, especially George Hemingway (Beta) who finished 3rd and Jamie Galloway (TRS) who finished 8th. – I saw an interview on Nevis Radio with Dougie Lampkin, and he mentioned how great it was to see so many young riders this year on 125 bikes – a good sign for the future.

And last but not least Kudus to the other Cannucks who gave it a good go this year, and to Nigel Birkett who finished 157th with 348 pts in this his 52nd ride in Scotland!!!!!!
