We had a really nice surprise visit yesterday from Myles Manna and his wife Judy – they were on a tour through BC visiting a few old friends and family – We had not seen them for over 30 years, so lots to catch up on. – Of course Myles and myself talked mainly about Trials, as he has just got back into it on a TRS. – They live on Vancouver Island and Myles rides often with another name from the past Brian McEwan, who is also a born again TRS Trials rider.

You will see from this pic what we had on the TV !!!

And just in case any of you have had brain fade!! the Famous Outlaw Trial goes once again at Summerland this weekend – sign in 8.30am Saturday ( Try not to be late)

Also please note!! If you have not contacted us about any parts or accessories to put on the van – then you will likely be out of luck.

=======================================

Lots of old familiar faces at last week’s Scottish, including Mick Wilkinson who appears to now need sticks for support.

Babsy brought this home last week, an old 16mm projector !! but all our old memories are on the smaller 8mm – anybody want to swap?

===========================================

We have watched a ton of video clips from the Scottish and they are great, but we must give the best cultivating award to Adam Raga. !!!!! He must have poured a gallon of water on the rocks of that one section before scrubbing it with his boots – But none of that helped him when he ran over the section card for a “5” !!! ( Yeah! I know I’ve read all the posts from the keyboard warriors – including the one from Oz – bottom line is the Observer ruled the same for Raga as the other 110 “5”s he posted.

I found it interesting watching some of the “lesser” riders trying to hop in the slippery rocks and obviously needed practice on this technique, because once a foot went down it was usually game over – in comparison some top riders simply slowed up looked ahead then made an old fashioned tight turn. ( or a Bernie “Floater”)

Of course seeing things on a video is a far cry from actually being there as the sections are all way more difficult than they appear through the lens of a camera.

I saw a post by Jon English who said this was his best ride ever at the Scottish perhaps because of nice weather. – I’m guessing sales were slow in the Parc Ferme for traders selling rain gear.

===========================================

Getting back to our local scene – you can expect to ride mostly natural sections at this weekend’s Outlaw Trial – but we might just have some of that rain that blew right over Scotland!!!

As posted earlier we did ride one of our old Outlaw loops last weekend and saw some tape, but really we have no idea what the set up crew will put in. ( just make sure you take enough gas to do about a 30km loop)
