Answer to the last quiz – Joey Dunlop the quiet Irishman who won 26 TT races, before his untimely death while competing in a club race in Latvia -a place he often visited to help the local club, and also deliver a van full of food to the children. – We have a VHS video called the Irish Road Racers, which is the story of Joey and his good buddies, when they started off racing on the road circuits in Ireland – both his close friends featured in the video were killed racing, and this video is a fitting memorial to “The Maun” ( Yes I will loan this out with reservations)

Another big Twin Shock Trial in Scotland this weekend -“THE HIGHLAND CLASSIC” Hosted by John Moffat with special guest Bernie Schreiber – Here is a pic of Bernie with a special bottle of Whisky made for Comerford’s the well known Trials Dealer from the 70’s who sponsored Bernie on the Bultaco. ( Looks like he also has the standard supply of sparkplugs we all carried back then)

There is a World Trial at San Marino in Italy this weekend the small republic not far from Rimini on the Adriatic Coast. – Babs and myself visited this back in 1962 while on our honeymoon – The Town is built high on a mountain top with an Old Fort built to repel invaders back in the day. – It appears from this pic, that they have managed to find some more traditional Trials sections for this event.

Our buddy and driver Mike had a couple of friends from Alberta visiting this past week, so he took them on some really neat rides on their Enduro bikes – this pic was taken up above Cache Creek – check out all the flowers.
