Answer to the last quiz – A young Dougie Lampkin at Donner – a pic I took of him – This was a time when Mart and Dougie were sleeping in a tent in the Hotel Parking lot ( right in front of where I parked the Outlaw van) At that time Dougie was wearing the #17, but even back then, he got the close attention of Jordi Tarres, who watched as Dougie tried to get up a 12ft wall in practice. – Barry and myself spent quite a bit of time with the Lampkin crew that weekend. Because of the 11,000ft altitude all the bikes were running crappy, but due to to some local work at the machine shop – most were better for the weekend.

A lot of Canadians went down for this event, including Mike Seto, who drove a strange looking and likely underpowered Motorhome.
Barry and myself slept in my van in the parking lot and as I recall Barry had a not too successful gambling trip into Reno on the Saturday night!!

As most people have noticed, we have been posting mostly what we consider “Proper” Trials info and pics on this blog – We know the younger guys love all the Hop and Bop and that is OK . – But for a true Trials future – I still think the old way is best ( but on the new bikes they are awesome) – and take a look at the biggest increase in Trials numbers in Europe “Classic” – Hmmmm!
Also, we now see a lot more ladies riding Trials – here is a pic from the UK.

Here is a poster of the upcoming event in Quebec.

After seeing my post yesterday Roger Boothroyd sent us this pic of Don Mcphail riding his TY in a Victoria Trial many years ago.
