Answer to the Saturday quiz – it was of course Mick Andrews on the early Sherpa T Bultaco, with Ralph Venerables watching – We think Mick was on the AJS prior to that, his first factory ride arranged by Ralph. – Then later a Factory James when the Spanish lightweights took over, and the AMC factory were struggling.
Harlow got in first !!
Quiz today -Who is this? and what is the reason he is pointing to this product ?

This is an old pic from when we were selling Sherco’s and was in the area near Kelowna where the big Fire had been, the rocks were all bleached white, and we also saw hundreds of field mice that day on the trail. But the main reason we are posting this today, is because back then we were selling the really nice lightweight carbon fiber NZI helmets which we Imported from Sammy Miller. – Now if you flick back to the pics we posted yesterday, you will notice that I’m wearing my very old version of this great helmet, because I thought it would help with my neck issues ( and it did) – Just wish we could still buy these.
Note ! We are aware that some new Carbon Fiber helmets are available, but they are quite bulky and also very expensive ( Our Wulf helmets are very good and well priced but heavy in comparison) – Stay tuned! in case we get more info: – (BTW That was quite a big rock step –

As many of our “Bloggers” know – we have always enjoyed our trips in the mountains of Western Canada, and of course part of our 1975 World round loop did go quite high around the Bragg Creek area, which perhaps is why some of the European riders were so impressed. -(World Champ Yrjo Vesterinen) This pic shows a bunch of enthusiasts high up in the Spanish mountains – I bet they had some great stories to tell.

Note! In comparison the World Trials of today (Called races by some) are set in very short loops and cater to USA style spectators.
Below is a pic we took of Mark and Taff on the 2nd ride we did up Joss Mountain – you will see that they are both wearing the nice lightweight NZI carbon helmets we sold back then. ( Check out the scenery!!! ) That lake you see had only just thawed and was ice cold.

With the weather outside really hot – I took time to sort a few of my files ( and I mean a “Few”) – Anyway I came across this one from when we used to mail out a monthly Trials letter – not sure if you can read it – but it just shows how things were going – certainly not for the better (IMHO)
The Good news is that our new Outlaw Trial organizers appear to want to host the traditional long loop event again for 2026 .

I came across this small magnetic signs today – from a time when the Pospisil Family hosted some great Trials in Alberta – We can only hope that the new blood that has now emerged in the Red Deer region might decide to put on Trials in the Forestry near Rocky Mountain House – the terrain is magnificent.

Check out this terrain – absolutely mind blowing – my message is simple – make it happen again.

And I have absolutely no idea why we are posting this!!

Finally!! I did try to watch the latest Trials Tube video with Jack Price, but it was like amateur night – had to click off.
