Below is a pic of Heather Wurtele from New Denver, on the TRS Xtrack she just got from us – already super happy and enjoying the bike.

Below are a few pics taken from a video of the Joss Mountain Climb Stan and I did to celebrate my 75th birthday – – It was Stan’s suggestion, as we were on route back from a Trial at Ymir ! – OK I said !! – What I did not know at the time, was that I was suffering from Type 2 diabetes – and of course back then — I never ate breakfast etc etc! – The other dumb mistake I made in agreeing to do this one last time, was the bike I had, was a Beta Factory 300 – great bike, but definitely the wrong one for me that day. –

It was already noon and raining, when we arrived at base camp, but we pressed on until we reached the Alpine – which as anybody that has done this climb will tell you, is not easy, especially for an old guy.

When we broke out into the Alpine – we sat down, for a much needed rest ( I was already shattered) and looking up high towards the next stage, I said to Stan – “Looks like we could hit snow” – Stan suggested we might want to go back – but after thinking about it – as knackered as I was, I thought – Well I’m never going to be up here again – so lets go for it. –

As you can see by the pics – we were lucky not running into snow, but it was certainly not far away.

Next week I will be 88 yrs old, still riding and yes I do plan on a birthday ride – but it will be a lot less challenging than that day on Joss mountain, but I’m so glad Stan and myself shared that time.

Below is our post in the visitors book at the Fire lookout at 7,800ft – this was only put in back in 2007, after they fitted new windows in the shack, which was originally built in 1920, by a team using packhorses.

Snow clouds all around. – we didn’t stick around too long. – Yes lots of snow drifts up top.

Quite a few birthdays today – Katie Mcg-,- Keith Simmons (Former Yamaha Canada Parts Manager) Larry Bastedo, -David Chambers, Darryl Heidrick and Paul Throssell – We hope you all have a great day.

Yesterday was quite special at the ISDE for our Canadian Team, as Shelby Turner from Alberta, made the fastest time in one of the special tests – perhaps the first time ever for a Canadian rider.
