The quiz the other day baffled everybody -including me, and I took the pic – some thought it was our good friend Murray Nutt, (RIP) who surprised all the hot shot West Coast riders, by winning that Western Canadian Championship Trial – a really good performance, especially as the Monts of that era had a nasty habit of jumping out of 3rd gear. The best bet, would be that it is one of the Victoria Club riders?? ( I have posted this pic I took of Murray that day)
Answer to the last quiz – Our blogger – Harlow Rankin a pic taken when he lived in Cochrane AB. – An easy one for most of our regulars!!

Quiz today Guess who – on what bike?

So now the 2025 FIM World Trials series is all done – what should we be looking at for 2026? – – while most people know my thoughts on this subject, obviously the large crowds attracted to these circus type events, is all good news for the FIM. ( money, money, money) – Meanwhile, the average club rider, will hopefully continue to enjoy what we might call “normal” trials.
I did click onto the You tube video from the last round in the UK, and yes they had some super difficult sections – but most of them all very similar – I’m afraid I changed the channel as I find this boring.
Now please don’t get me wrong – I have the utmost admiration for all these young riders, male and female, in testing their skills in the modern FIM trials, but for me, as an old guy, I just like my memories of how it used to be, and what we have always tried to promote as a family sport.

One video which I will look forward to, is the upcoming Scott Time Trial – which for me, is far more realistic and entertaining for the average rider.- ( And a real challenge)

Meanwhile we have some pics sent in by one of our customers, who bought a Trials bike for what a lot of people like to do ( including me) that is exploring the Mountains. – Check these out taken after a rain storm!! – Now we are not going to tell you where this is or who the people are, but we will tell you that the lady rider, is new to trials bikes, and had no problem in enjoying this incredible terrain on the Outlaw TRS 250 Xtrack. and she really liked the estart feature. ( You need to look closely to spot the small bike images – must have used a drone)

Finally a big “CONGRATS” to Foordy for finishing with a good result and a Trophy at the Outliers Xtreme Enduro . – A fantastic result, considering he broke his neck in a traffic accident just a few years ago. Many will remember that he is also a former Trials champ and we helped him out with a Sherco when he first contacted us from the UK before emigrating. – Steve rode a Beta Xtrainer in Alberta.. – He is seen here with his wife Mellissa – who is also a top racer in the Ladies class.
