It was Bob Clark who was first in with the correct answer to our Sunday quiz – likely before he headed out to the Ioco Trial – and it was Michael Brown flying high at Orgate Falls in the Scott Trial – Later Harlow also got it.
Quiz today – Guess who – hint he was a very good “Scrambler and Trials rider, before his sad death at a Trial in the UK. ( He got hit by a car)

We have mentioned before our collection of books – here is the Don Smith book and below the post script.

The interesting part about this story is that although Don Smith was involved with the Kaw project – that bike was really in at the deep end, because everybody was buying Yamaha TY 250’s at that time., and the Kaw was very much overweight as I recall. ( although I never did ride one) – Our buddy Pete Smith rode a sponsored one in the 1975 World round in Alberta, but hated it. wished he had been on his Sherpa T 325. – Just like Suzuki, Kawasaki dropped out of the Trials market, when they realized they had been misled by the US Importers, who told them Trials would be huge just like Moto X.

Here is a pic to get the off road crowd excited – David Knight winning the over 40 class at the Weston Beach race on a brand new Ducati !!!! David was of course a great Trials rider and pupil of Steve Colley early in his career – he is featured on the Trials video Colley made which we have (VHS) – If you want to see something different (and crazy) click onto the You Tube videos of this event) – ( Todd Kellett won Billy Bolt finished 2nd)

Below is a really nice “Classic” Ariel at the Kinlochleven Trial – pic by Mandy Lewis. – That bike must have cost a fortune to build.

Another You Tube video I watched over the weekend, was the one posted by the Hanlon lads from Ireland, of the Kinlochleven Two day Classic Trial – They do a good job on these and looked to be having a really great time. ( A bit hard to understand with the Irish accent)

Sad news just posted – Dale was a great trials enthusiast and put out some neat VHS video’s on Trials, we have quite a few of them.
