The old saying goes “February brings the rain-thaws the frozen lakes again” – Well I see we still have ice on Swan lake, but we have not seen any people ice fishing and certainly not out there with vehicles -at all this year.
I remember in the early 70’s going to oval snowmobile races in Revelstoke and seeing the town deep in snow with people making tunnels to get to their front doors.
Yesterday I visited my top selling dealer for Opti snowmobile oil near Sicamous, and it certainly has not been good for any of these dealers this year. – Lack of snow, plus the uncertainty in the World is making the buying public wary of spending. ( and none of these sleds are cheap) – However in spite of all this – the high priced ATV/Side by side market seems to be strong.

Answer to the last quiz – It was Les Graham on the MV Augusta in the 1953 TT – shortly after this pic was taken Les crashed at the bottom of Bray hill, when the Earles type forks locked up -and poor Les was killed. –
Pete Varey got it as did Harlow – Bob Clark guessed Massetti – which was a good guess, – another toughie .

Stan sent us this pic of Kiwi Trent Burgess on his Beta Evo complete with long ride kit and chainsaw – they were out on a 6 hour ride somewhere – We took Trent out a few years ago when he first got a Trials bike – we had to slow him down that day as he was hitting stuff at high speed – likely because he was also competing in the Baja 1000 races as well at that time. – Hopefully get more pics soon.

Birthday greetings today to Kolten Morrison who turns 23 !! it seems a long time ago that we loaned him a Beta Evo 200 to begin his Trials career. Happy birthday young fella!!
