And here is a look back to 1993 when we were at the Scottish and shared some good times with Harry (see us in the top pic with Walt Healy) – I can’t remember which magazine this article went in.

I wonder how many of our “Bloggers” started their Trials career on a Bultaco Sherpa T? – Without a doubt when Sammy Miller joined the Spanish factory and helped design that first Trials bike – the Trials world changed forever, the new lightweight models took over from the British bikes. Everybody wanted a Bultaco !! That was also the first bike I bought when I started riding in Canada. Check out this pic of a Sherpa T handbook. ( Heath Brindley has this)

And below is a pic of me in one of my last Trial on a 325 sherpa T – a very steep climb in an Alberta Trial – John Whitby took the pic.

Like many people we have been catching some of the Winter Olympics on the box – although winter sports (except for snowmobiling) were never my “Cup of tea” – We do appreciate the huge skill and effort that goes into this, and of course like to see Canadian athletes do well. – Just had a flashback to when I was out on the Ski hill at Banff with Walt showing the Yamaha snowmobiles they were interested in – I can tell you that was a scary experience coming down the ski slope on the sled with Skiers zipping by at breakneck speed – later the sleds we supplied had the tracks reversed in order to slow them down and also had big cleats installed- they were used to get injured skiers off the hill.
