Tuesday May 5th/26

Our header pic today – shows Jon English at the Scottish on Monday – he lost 42 points ( marks) Tyler Mumford had lost 53.

Here are the leading scores – Only Adam Raga going clean.

Adam Raga 0 – Jack Price 1- Michael Brown – 1 George Hemingway -1

UPDATE – DAY 2 – We were up early at 4am our time and watched live video of Witch’s Burn – the fearsome steep waterfall section, that we have spectated at. – very slippery today, but no issues for the top riders.

Did you know that most top riders let air out of the tires to ride the sections – then pump back up for the long fast road parts? – Flat tires can be a big issue if a rider is tight on time. – Back in the day it was common to see riders with a bicycle type pump strapped to their leg with rubber bands cut from a car inner tube – we have seen a few of Mick Andrews like this. – Of course these days there are small compact tire kits to do the job.

Jon English still going well at this stage – Tuesday is usually a “Toughie” – especially for the early numbers.

We didn’t post a quiz question on Monday – but as it’s Scottish week – we will show some pics from the SSDT for our bloggers to guess

Quiz today – Who is this sticking his tongue out??

==========================================

This is the Official Webmaster for the SSDT – she seems well prepared and also has a big box of energy “sweets” for the riders.

We thought the Day one video posted by BVM was the best, as it showed some of the ‘In between” parts of the course – across the Moors etc – However only a few of the same riders as Craig was posting and also riding. – Quite a few others showed a lot of the riders and sections, so certainly very easy for us to follow the action.

The Irish Hanlon team have also got a good video up – this one shows more of the pre trial stuff – the weigh in etc – did you know that the bikes all go through a pre Trial check with certain parts all marked and these cannot be changed during the week. – even the lights still need to be working at the end, or penalty points are added.

Neil Sturgeon always posts some great pics – here is one of Ben Hemmingway on one of the new Beta Sincro models.
